To become a world-class, and all-inclusive non-profit organization devoted to continually striving to ensure that the world’s disadvantaged youth are rescued from social, economic, intellectual and educational marginalization, such that they can continue to thrive in the full richness and diversity of their different communities to become sufficiently educated and empowered to attain their highest possible human potential.
Why Support Us?
The goal of Sibling’s Keeper is simple. We aim to promote social justice and equity, and in the process, we encourage others to join us in upholding these two noble principles by working for systemic change on the global turf.
There are growing inequalities all around the world, not only among nations but also within countries. The gap between rich and poor, and its negative impact on education systems, and the right to education is quite serious. Social justice demands that we all work towards reversing this growing inequality, and the first step is to expand opportunities for good quality education. An equity approach, on the other hand, signifies efforts aimed at reaching marginalized and deprived populations first, in contrast to reaching only greater quantities of people.
Sibling’s Keeper appreciates that a lack of basic education and access to resources can easily increase the chances of child exploitation, including but not limited to human trafficking and child labor. Our proactive solution is to combat child exploitation by providing educational and recreational resources to develop a community such that it will be able to sustain itself for generations to come. In doing so, Sibling’s Keeper will address 4 of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as follows:
Poverty | Good Health & Well Being | Quality Education | Gender Equality
Poverty connotes much more than the lack of income and resources to ensure a sustainable livelihood. Its manifestations include hunger and malnutrition, limited access to education and other basic services; social discrimination and exclusion, as well as the lack of participation in decision-making. By providing Sonkwaa Village, our pilot project in Ghana, with the first library, computer center, and the modernization of the schoolhouse, Sibling’s Keeper will be able to achieve the following:
* Promote wellness at an early age, which is essential to sustainable development.
* Improve basic literacy skills. Economic growth must be inclusive to provide sustainable jobs and promote equality.
* Educate young mothers, as even mothers with only primary schooling are more likely to survive than children of mothers with no education.
Sibling’s Keeper is a non-profit organization committed to providing the enabling environment for disadvantaged and underserved youth all over the world to be availed with proper mentorship, the proper instructional platform; and the adequate resources and appropriate recreational facilities that will enable them to both exploit and create opportunities that will, not only transform them into better informed and more proactive global citizens, but also equip them to evolve into peak performing adults with the potential of contributing meaningfully to society.
Our ultimate goal is to create a new generation of global leaders who will be inspired to become civic-minded and ethical decision-makers by learning to solve problems through critical and creative thinking; confident and competent communication, and synergistic teamwork; all in a noble bid to see them develop genuine career motivation and a user-friendly knowledge of our global and multicultural society.
Sibling’s Keeper is particularly fixated on building self-confidence and encouraging teamwork through the instrumentality of recreational activities. Sibling’s Keeper also provides a credible global platform for student collaboration projects, whilst also advancing intellectual creativity through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, in the perfectly defensible belief that these are all areas that will prove to be of vital importance to our world in the decades still ahead.
